- I sign up for every product I review — free trial or paid subscription
- I test core features with real data, not just demo environments
- I calculate actual costs for different team sizes (5, 25, 100+ users)
- I identify hidden fees, feature gating, and scaling friction that vendors don’t advertise
- I compare against at least 3 direct competitors in every review
- I give specific “who should/shouldn’t buy this” recommendations
